Another suburb of Paris where life is good, provided you like the new architecture! Even people from Neuilly are starting to become jealous of this pleasant town, which is ideally located in the near western suburbs and whose renovation and amenities over several years have attracted many young families with purchasing power slightly lower than that of their neighbours. The arrival of the So Ouest shopping centre, which even attracts Parisians, is blatant proof of this.

FRONT DE SEINE
Location :
As its name suggests, the Front de Seine district occupies all the banks of the Seine to the north of Levallois-Perret and even includes one end of the Ile de la Jatte. From Place de la Libération, this area runs along Rue de Villiers, bordering Neuilly, encompasses Quai Michelet, returns via Rue Victor Hugo, along Clichy this time, and ends up all along Rue Paul-Vaillant-Couturier.
Atmosphere :
Encompassing the Levallois-Perret cemetery, the central point of this corner located to the north of the city is Place Georges Pompidou, with its restaurants and their huge sunny terraces. Many headquarters have moved there and bring new life to the area, especially at lunchtimes, with the weekends being quieter for residents.
Practical life :
All these offices mean that there are plenty of shops, supermarkets, small businesses and convenience stores in a small area. It makes daily life so much easier! After that, the wide and long roads with modern buildings and blocks of flats aren’t to everyone’s liking. The advantage is being able to benefit from ultra-recent facilities, such as the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan!
School life :
The most popular schools in the town are to be found not far from the Levallois-Perret cemetery and its huge park: Collège Louis Blériot, the Leonard de Vinci Public Lycée and the Jean-Jaurès nursery school and college, which themselves are surrounded by nurseries to keep the siblings busy!
Transport :
On the banks of the Seine, just cross the bridges to visit the Ile de la Jatte, follow the river to reach Neuilly and Clichy and take the metro to return to Paris. As a modern, new and accessible town, Levallois is an excellent compromise for accessing multiple destinations in the west of Paris in a short time.
Property :
You’ve come to the wrong place if you don’t like modern buildings! Here there are fifteen-storey dwellings, uniform bay windows, identical apartments, balconies, lockers galore and underground areas with hundreds of parking spaces. Although it is very green with beautiful parks with trees and flowers, this town has never managed to have the prestige, and therefore the prices, of Neuilly or Paris.
GENERAL LECLERC
Location :
Starting again from Place de la Libération, this time go down Rue de Villiers to Paris. Take Rue Jacques Ibert which bounds Paris, go up to Rue du Président Wilson and go up it towards Parc de la Planchette. You’ll get a good idea of the district called Général Leclerc, in reference to its Square of the same name located exactly in the centre of this area.
Atmosphere :
With the huge 35,000 m2Parc de la Planchette, which is ideally located in the middle of Levallois, this district still has a fair bit of charm! Moreover, the town has received, for the third time, the Grand Prix National du Fleurissement at the National Competition for Towns and Villages in Bloom, as well as the Fleur d’Or, which it was awarded in 2017 along with 7 other French towns!
Practical life :
On the very edge of Rue de Villiers stands the very beautiful Franco-British Hospital Institute with its typically English architecture, which is in a straight line from the American Hospital in Neuilly. Further down is the Town Hall, which is just as beautiful and welcoming. These two practical and admirable buildings almost make us forget the social housing blocks encrusted here and there in the town.
School life :
Collège Danton has all the modern and practical infrastructures that are appreciated by teenagers and so dear to Levallois Perret. This building, which is located right next to Villa Chaptal (with charming houses!), is also a stone’s throw away from Rue Carnot and its tennis club.
Transport :
The Town Hall of Levallois-Perret has made free municipal transport available to its residents: les Abeilles! This bus system runs every 20 minutes on weekdays and every 40 minutes at weekends and in the school holidays and serves many stops in the city. Not to mention the night bus service that goes to Paris and the 12 bus lines.
Property :
Rue Carnot and all its adjacent streets, with small investment properties, a few modern 80s builds and too few houses in the Chaptal area make it a very sought-after area. Prices have increased significantly in recent years.
JEAN ZAY
Location :
Further east, the area of Jean Zay starts at the corner of Rue Jean-Jaurès and Rue Président Wilson, goes to Place du 8 Mai 1945 and delimits Levallois-Perret from the commune of Clichy to its right before finishing at Rue Paul-Vaillant-Couturier. This area is dominated by Place Jean-Zay and Place d’Estienned’Orves.
Atmosphere :
There’s certainly nothing like a beautiful church, its square, the friendly streets that surround it, the Christmas market that is set up there every year, etc. Apart from these few streets around the Eglise de Saint Justin, Levallois instead offers new buildings, with admittedly large green courtyards, but it lacks a certain charm.
Practical life :
It’s easy to travel around here, you can buy all your essentials, you can have fun and take advantage of facilities such as the Aquatic Centre and its two 25-metre swimming pools. Levallois is a very pleasant town with its recent architecture and many families wouldn’t swap this good-natured atmosphere and the practicality of modern buildings, all just a few minutes from Paris, for anything.
School life :
Between Buffon Primary School or Sainte-Marie de la Providence Private Primary School, the Saint Exupéry or Jules Ferry elementary schools, Saint Justin Private College or Daniel Private High School, there’s certainly plenty of choice! It really is a choice area for children of all ages to benefit from schooling in a privileged environment with a real mix of its inhabitants.
Transport :
Despite the proximity of the railway line on the Clichy side, this area isn’t served by the Paris metro. So you’ll have to take your bike or motorbike instead of the metro! This is also the reason why the town council set up Les Abeilles, a free bus service reserved for residents of Levallois-Perret!
Property :
With its magnificent Eglise Saint Justin a few streets away from the Town Hall, this district has all the advantages of a small provincial town, as well as the prices! The selection of properties still full of spacious apartments with basements, car parks, large lifts and high security. Enough to attract a lot of different kinds of people!
ALSACE
Location :
It is one of the quirks of Levallois that the district is split into four sub-parts, including the smallest, Alsace. Located to the south-east of Levallois, it takes its name from Rue d’Alsace that it includes, as well as a small part of Rue Victor Hugo and Rue Jean-Jaurès. It extends to the Paris ring road.
Atmosphere :
This is the new place to be for shoppers! This new district is now home to all the famous fashion brands: H&M, Hollister & Co, Uniqlo, Marks & Spencer and the very popular So Ouest shopping centre! The highlight of the weekends, the Levallois cinema, tops off this entertaining and cheerful space.
Practical life :
For those in need of greenery, Parc Alsace has 17,000 m2 of green space in which to breathe a little chlorophyll. It’s not quite as big as Parc de la Planchette, but this makes it a nice and very suitable place for pushchairs and dog walkers.
School life :
You only have to walk a few steps between the Tom Pouce or Gavroche collective nurseries, the Higher School of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering Techniques and the School of Higher Sciences, Law and Economics, which are all located in this small area of Levallois!
Transport :
Apart from the Louis Michel, Anatole France and Pont de LevalloisBecon metro stations of line 3 crossing this suburb from south to north, it’s better to take the bus to get to this booming commercial district. This is perhaps one of the weaknesses of the Alsace of Levallois!
Property :
As you can see, the advantage of this new shopping district is driving up prices in the area! And buyers will need to appreciate the charm of the buildings! However, the ease of daily life is prevalent, combined with the advantage of the many surrounding parks and green spaces.
